Piles of rubble stand where a chic apartment complex used to house hundreds of people. Residents are reportedly fleeing their homes to avoid the aftershocks of the giant earthquake. Thousands of people are buried alive under mountains of debris, bricks and cement. Some of them are trapped. It's a matter of time before they die. Rescuers have to work hard to reach them. Cranes and other heavy equipment will help speed the rescue mission.
